Zombie shivered, a rather drained expression on her face. Sure, during summer and fall her existence had been rather simple. She had at least some food to live off of, but as the weather started to turn, it became harder and harder for her to keep up her food intake, naps became hard to finds peace in as the weather cooled down. And now it was snowing, a form of water, probably the worst besides actually being dunked in water. Sure, rain was bad, but snow could actually be blown in places of safety. Almost nothing escaped being touched by snow. Plus, she was freezing.
Arms wrapped around herself she went to the River in search of some company, possibly someone who would have been fishing or something. Yet she didn't know how rare that would be now. Once she found no one there, she sat down by a tree, sitting close in hopes that she would at least keep away from as much of the light snow as possible. She snuggled up to the itchy bark, her limbs now having a thinner quality to them. She was even getting to the point where she could easily feel her rips. She longed to be back up with her master, she had a good living with the Witch, and she missed it. Had she not come to realize yet that Zombie was missing, and that the girl she had chased out of the house had been in fact her cat.
She shivered again, and closed her eyes as she tucked her legs up to herself, limbs tucking closer to her body as well. Would she lose another life?... What would happen to her, because she doubted that if she died that the weather would change and make it easy for her to get back up. Wounds were the only experience she had with death, not anything like hunger and the weather. It had been fun at first, being on her own and being rather devious as she would sneek around and steal thing, play around with people. But now she longed for food and warmth. Possibly laying by the fire back with her Witch as she plotted or made potions, possibly even received one of the oh so rare pets or rubbing of the ears. Anything away from here. She was still finding it hard to get any warmth, but then something slid down her cheek.
At first it was warm, but it cooled very quickly. It was moist, and out of slight shock she raised a hand to her cheek to wipe away the moisture. She looked at her fingers, glistening slightly with what seemed to be water. She licked it, and it tasted a little salty, but nothing like ocean water. ((which she would never again drink in her life mind you.)) Thats when it happened to her other cheek too. Yet again whipping away the moisture she looked at it. But they didn't stop there, she had no idea that they were tears.

The young brunette was tramping along through the snow, wearing a thick black coat and blue scarf. Not to mention those coverups, but she was also sporting different gloves than the usual ones she wore when mining. Camille had left her hair down to keep her neck somewhat warm, and she had also put her hood up to shield some of the wind from her head. It was freezing. Winter had always been her least favorite season, but it signified that spring was soon, and that was the only part of it that she really liked.
As she walked, she toted a bag on her back. She didn't know where she was going, she had just decided to go out for a walk and explore some of the village that particular day since she really hadn't done such a thing yet, even though she had been there for a few seasons. Mining took up a lot of time, but it wasn't like she minded.
Nearing the river, she noticed someone over by the tree. The figure was a woman who was cowering. Didn't she have any winter wear? Apparently not, unless she had mental problems and forgot to put warm clothes on.
"Hey, are you okay?" Camille called, making her way over to the woman. It was only when she leaned down a little closer to the female that she realized tears streaked her face. "Hey, what's wrong?" As she was waiting for an answer, Camille slipped off her coat and offered it to the woman; yes, the coat off her own back, even in such frigid temperatures. The woman had always been extremely nice to people, especially ones she felt bad for. The blue-eyed woman knew she would get cold, but she did have some underarmor on to help her herself warm.

Zombie blinked a few times at the girl who had come over to her. She wiped away the tears streaming down her cheeks with the backs of her hands before looking at the black coat that was being held out to her. She looked at it a few moments, before looking up at the girl with shoulder length brown hair. She had been saying such things as: "Hey whats wrong?", and "are you okay?" Zombie no knowing how to reply, reach out cautiously as she took to coat.
No one ever offered her such things she normally had to rely on herself, and her skills of thieving to get such things. Thin pale fingers wrapping around the neck of the warm coat she pulled it to herself, realizing that it was warm she used it mainly as a blanket, pulling it to herself and tucking in her hands to warm them. "Zombie..." She started, not yet realizing the use of 'I', "is homesick..." She said, looking down. Weakness, she knew this was weakness. And if the Witch saw her now, how pathetic would she find her? She couldn't help but think about it, even if she didn't want to.

Camille sat down beside stranger, but not too close. She didn't want to scare the woman to death by seeming like she was clingy or some weirdo. When she had taken the coat, the eighteen-year-old had been happy because she took comfort in knowing the woman wasn't going to freeze to death out in the cold winter atmosphere.
"Zombie is homesick..."
Dark eyebrows furrowed at the comment. Camille had never met anyone who used their own name instead of 'I' to explain something. Or was that someone else's name, and the woman was referring to them? Could she possibly be sad for a friend?
"Is that...your name?" Camille ventured, trying to get a bit more information from the woman so she could attempt to comfort her.

As the woman sat down next to her, a bit of excitement bubbled in her chest. She was glad, she didn't really know why, but the company of the woman comforted her a little. Yet the woman was no witch, so it wasn't the same warm fuzzies she got from laying by a fire and watching her master plot something evil, yet it was comforting none the less. Golden eyes flickered over the womans face, cats normally being a good judge of character the woman seemed nice enough, yet Zombie couldn't help herself from thinking of ways she could scam and trick the woman. Even if she wouldn't do such things, which if she would or would not was still undecided.
"Is that...your name?"
Zombie nodded, a few strands of her dark hair bobbing with the movement. "Yes," Zombie managed a smile, "Zombie isn't very good at speaking." She said, knowing her social skills and knowledge of sentence structure would still need to be studied. Yet she was learning quickly from being around it for quite some time. She shifted the womans coat on her shoulders, cool hands twisting in the material as she couldn't help her nose from twitching from the aroma that floated from it. It smelled like the girl in front of her, and her amazement over smells made her fidget a little more, just so the scent would come in another wave. Yet what she was doing only made her look slightly nervous instead of making it look like she was absorbing and breaking down the scent that drifted from the coat.

Camille's brows furrowed at the sudden expression forming on the woman's face. For some reason, she was starting to seem anxious. "That's an interesting name," Camille commented. "I'm Camille, and I'm sort of new here to Charoite Village. I don't really know a lot of people yet. And...I'm sure your speech will get better."
Shrugging, she hoped her words were somewhat comforting to the stranger. It was odd to find someone out in the winter cold, crying. Part of Camille felt like she should ask what was wrong, but the opposite feeling won over. She wouldn't want the woman getting all flustered and starting to cry again. That would be awkward.
Instead, she attempted to strike up a mini-conversation, possibly to distract the sorrowful woman. "Are you new here, too?"

Zombie listened to her, continuing to soak in the smell of the jacket as her golden eyes watched the girl talk about how she was new. She smiled at the girl when she asked if Zombie was new to the area. She found this question rather humorous, not being able to hold back a laugh, giving up on the jacket and how it smelled. "Yes, Zombie is new here." She lied, thinking that it could be a fun game to be new. Yet at the same time she really hadn't been one to hang out around the town. "Why else would Zombie be homesick?" She thought she was awesome, in fact if she had a tail it would be flicking around in pride of her cover, knowing it would have been odd to say she had grown up around the area all her life, yet she was homesick?
Now warm fingers folded under her arms as she tilted her head to the side. "Do you like the village?" Zombie asked, the woman before her bored her, she wasn't going to lie. Sure, the kindness was appreciated. But she was rather ungrateful to someone that was lending her a jacket off of their own back. She wished that that Alicia girl had found her. Zombie hated her, feared her slightly thinking of how she might have pushed her into the river if she was found, but that is why she liked the womans company. She felt like she had to be witty and mean, yet the moments when she was kind fitted because it was almost like they understood each other. Anyways, its not like the kindness they showed each other was really anything to grand.

At the comment about being homesick, Camille flushed from embarassment. How could she be so foolish? Her ditzyness was showing slightly. Maybe the cold was starting to get to her. At least Zombie was being polite back. The brunette had been afraid she would get angry, for some odd reason...
"I do like it here. I just need to meet more people," Camille answered softly, offering the woman a warm smile, although that warmth wouldn't help the stranger any. Once again, she was debating with herself over whether or not she should ask Zombie if she had a place to stay. After a moment of thought, she said, "The wind makes it a lot colder outside. If you need a place to go to get out of the winter air, then you could go to the mine. You can keep my coat for warmth, I don't mind. Just throwing that out there."
The miner had often times taken shelter in there when traveling nearby and the wind was too harsh. It had warmed her quite a bit, being out of the wind and all. She hoped, if the woman didn't have any place to go, that she would take her suggestion and use it.

"I see!" Zombie exclaimed in thought, but thinking about approaching the home of her master? It made her slightly fearful, yet at the same time the mine could keep her warmer then exposed to the cold wind and snow. Also possibly just being closer to her home might make her feel not as homesick as she was. She nodded a few times after thinking. "Zombie might just have to do that!" She said with a smile, so the girl was kinda helpful which was nice for her. She just wasn't finding an easy way to possibly scam the girl if she was being open and giving her the jacket.
Everyone knew that a good scam here and there would be the perfect cure of homesickness... At least in Zombie's case. The smile dampened, slowly fading as reality started to settle in. She didn't have food, or an actual shelter... She needed to find a job or something. Yet she knew very little about getting a job. And she wasn't really job material unless she was a flat out thief. Which was kind of what she was doing. Yet she didn't understand the importance of munny, and this was a small town. Too small for someone to be a thief and out in the open. She gave a sigh, a rather worn look on her face as she looked to the water. Finally it seemed to be sinking in, she was in a different world now, just being a cute cat didn't cut it anymore.

Camille felt great that she could help Zombie somehow. It seemed sad that the woman was outside in such weather and homesick. For a second, she felt a pang in her heart, thinking of an elegant place back in the city...
Shaking her head, the brunette let out a sigh. "I hope you do. I wouldn't want you freezing to death." It wasn't intended, but a small chuckle slipped from the woman's mouth. It had just been a light phrase, but it could truly happen. She hadn't meant that, and she hoped it didn't scare the dark-haired woman. "I go to the mine a lot and meet a friend there. I pack lunch, so maybe I'll bring you something if you're there."
Tilting her head to the side, the woman flashed Zombie a smile before standing up. "Think about it, okay? And really, keep that coat. You need it more than I do. I should be going, though...unless you need something else. I can get something for you if you'd like." It wasn't like the woman had anywhere else to go or anywhere to be that day. She would be more than happy to help out.

When Zombie looked back at the woman a small smile twitched to life on her face about the mentioning of food. The woman was really nice, Zombie wondered how she could even manage being so kind.
"Think about it, okay? And really, keep that coat. You need it more than I do. I should be going, though...unless you need something else. I can get something for you if you'd like."
Zombie nodded, somewhat happier then before as she herself managed to stand up. She then paused a few moments, slipping on to coat to be on the right way. At first her sluggish moves made her think that her limbs would just be eaten by the sleeves, but soon a thin pale hand popped out of the first sleeve, and she was able to do the other faster before bundling up in the jacket. "Thank you for helping Zombie..." She said looking up at the girl. "Zombie might go and check out the mine!" She said rather cheery as she tucked her hands into the coat pockets with a nod.

A smile flashed on Camille's face, a warm feeling bubbling up inside of her. Helping other people made her feel good, and she was happy to do so. The reward she got was the other person's contentment and gratitude. That was enough for her.
"No problem, Zombie. If you need anything, I'm at the mine a lot. Or around town. Just find me."
With that, the woman turned and bolted off. Her underarmor was keeping her warm enough to stay outside in the weather, but it wasn't like it was the warmest outfit ever. She was starting to shiver, and she wanted to get someplace warm. Camille hated winter.

After some time of starring after the nice (and in Zombies opinion strange) woman, Zombie worked her way to a standing position. Her heart was still heavy, and her body felt that way to. But at least she had a place that would keep her slightly warm, and at least she might get some food in the process. She gave a sigh, wishing she was just a cat once again. She was even promising in her mind that she wouldn't drink any more of the witches potions out of curiosity like she had done on occasion. Which surprisingly enough had not caused her to lose a life.
Hesitantly she left the tree that she was leaning on, deciding that she just might go and see what the mine held for her. With a sigh, running a hand through her hair, she finally started to head to the mountainside, closer to her master then she had been in awhile.
