Raine had a small sweat on her brow, some of her white locks sticking to her moist forehead as she managed to open the door while keeping Ricardo balanced on her back. She was automatically warmed even further walking in from the cold. Her dress didn't have the same angelic quality as it had before, the white now having some stains on it, and a few tears from clingy branches and such. Yet she still had that glare on her face, why? Who knows. Icy blue eyes scanned around the clinic, she gave a huff, pulling Ricardo up on her back further once again. She had become a sweaty mess, no longer being cooled by the weather. Yet Ricardo had become cooled down compared to when she had first picked up the man who had been working. Which she hated to admit made her slightly worried about the man. Why? Yet again she couldn't tell you.
The night outside was starting to settle over, and she had to admit it was annoying to find her way back to town in the dark. Especially with her mind seeming to not rest for even one second about the whole situation on hand. She finally called out, "Dr.Oleander!" She needed his help, also the load on her back was starting to make her back stiff. She smirked in her mind, even if she seemed cold and upset about the situation she was silently celebrating inside... That was until she thought about the man on her back. 'The fool... why did he overwork himself...' She thought, her gaze sweeping over the room to look for the doctor that she needed at the moment, well at least that Ricardo needed.

Upon hearing the door open, Chase had risen from his seat at his desk. His golden orbs scanned over some paperwork just briefly before he left the room and made his way toward the main entrance. Hearing his name called, he picked up the pace, and soon swooped into the small lobby.
His gaze landed on the woman he had met in the woods, Raine. The woman was carrying a man he had never seen before, and his first thought was: How can she carry him? Then, he remembered, that she was a blacksmith. Of course she had muscle.
"What happened?" he asked, hurrying over and helping to support the stranger as he guided her into an examination room so that the white-haired woman could set him down on a bed. Chase checked his vital signs; his pulse was a bit week, but all other signs were good. The stranger was cold, and it seemed like he had merely overworked himself, but he still wanted to hear what had happened from Raine.
As Chase pulled the covers out from under the man and tucked them under his chin, he waited for a response from the woman.

After putting Ricardo in the bed she looked up and the doctor. The glare had managed to wash away from her face, yet her emotions were let loose, the less feminine side of her you could say, so her face still held a look of annoyance. But its not like you couldn't see the slight worry. "Ricardo was out working chopping wood. I was walking around Everest at the time, and I arrived in time to see him collapse..." She glanced at Rico when he was tucked in the bed. She stretched her back rubbing her back to try and make it not so tense from bending foreword and bearing his weight. Man, she hated bad posture, now that she was standing straight again it was a relief. Not only that but she had gotten Ricardo out of the snow... what would have happened if she hadn't gone out on that walk? She gave a sigh, feeling her lungs expand in relief of their freedom.
"I'm just glad I was there at that time..." She wasn't going to tell Chase that she had stopped and was actually watching the man for awhile before that happened. Actually, she probably wasn't going to tell anyone. A small blush, once again she could feel it coming to her cheeks. Yet thank the Goddess for windburn, right? Anyways, yet again, what would have happened if she just walked by? She ran her fingers through her hair, bushing it away from her face, trying to seem as detached from the situation as she could as she fixed up her hair. Lips pursed slightly before she opened her mouth to speak once again. "He overworked himself... Didn't he? She was glancing off to the side, away from both the light haired and dark haired man in the room. "I wouldn't be surprised if he gets sick because he was out without his jacket." She muttered to herself.
Thats when she realized her dress, looking down at its bad condition. She stood looking at it for a few moments before shrugging and putting her hands on her hips. She stood looking at the doctor a few moments like this. "But he will be okay... right?" Whenever she was startled or frazzled in any way she always got this way.

The medical man nodded at her explanations and made a small humming noise. "He will be fine. He just needs to get warmed up and get some rest. Once he wakes up, I'm sure he will be okay to go home. I will give him some medicine incase he gets a cold." The male paused for a moment, he eyes sweeping over the patient. "Ricardo is his name? Mmmhmm...it was good that you happened to be walking by."
When his attention shifted to the woman, he realized that she was attempting to look indifferent to the situation, but slight concern leaked out of her eyes anyways. "Raine, he will be fine. You can calm down now." In a normal situation, Chase wouldn't feel so comfortable talking with someone. Since he, for one, knew that the woman was easy to talk to and get along with, it made him more comfortable. The major factor of his easy speaking was that it somewhat dealt with his work.
A bit ago, he remembered her massaging her back a bit. It probably did ache from carrying the man so far. "Do you need something for your back?"

((XP I should probably leave room for Rosie soon.))
Like that with the simple attention directed on her for a few moments, it seemed to snap to her... reality. The attention, people (conscious person) being present and watching, her annoyance seemed to just dissolve. Her face went blank for a few moments it seemed, before her lips curled the slightest. Her hands folded together in front of her and she shook her head. "Oh, I am sure its fine." She said, dispute the fact that it did ache. "I am sure my back is just a little tense, but its feeling better already now that I am standing upright." She said with a small nod as if to confirm her statement. "But thank you."
Her gaze shifted over to Ricardo for a few moments before looking back at the doctor, expression fading. She thought about asking to stay and wait for him to wake up, thinking back to the day at the beach she pondered a bit. But would it seem odd if she stayed, that was their first meeting, and she didn't know what to do. "Do you mind if I wait here until he wakes up?" Raine finally asked. Even if her brother was probably getting home and wanting to eat food past dinner time like he did on occasion he knew not to worry about her too much. When he did she would honestly just tell her little sibling off.

Chase only nodded when the woman declined the offer of needing anything for her back. He hoped she hadn't pulled a muscle or anything, but he wasn't about to worry about it for all that long. If she had a problem, she would most likely speak up. Unless she was one of those people that thought they could handle everything themselves and didn't need any help whatsoever...
"Do you mind if I wait here until he wakes up?"
The doctor peered at her, his lips curling into a very small smile. "Of course I don't mind," he replied softly. Jabbing an index finger at the chair in the corner of the room, he said, "If you would like to sit down, you can sit there or you can even sit in the lobby."
Shifting his attention back to Ricardo, the man checked his pulse against and felt his forehead. "His pulse is getting stronger, and he is warming up. It shouldn't be too long before he wakes up."

"Okay, thank you." She said before walking over to the chair in the corner of the room. Why was she doing this again? Raine walked over to the corner of the room sitting down. She crossed her legs, hands folded on her lap as she settled in a little. She didn't even fully understand why she felt the urge to wait for Rico to wake up. Leaning against the arm of the chair she sat in her gaze lazily resting on the dark haired man. Her glance slid away from him, her her hands that started to fidget in her lap. A few strands of her hair drifted in front of her face as she thought.
There only true encounter, bickering back and forth and taking shots at each others ego without being harsh. She didn't know if she should laugh or throw something at the man now. But...
"...You want to grab something sweet to eat? My treat."
Even after it all, it just seemed like a game. The thoughts brought a small smirk to her face, that faded as she looked up at the black haired man. How could she not at least care enough about him to see if he was okay in the end. So she would wait.

His companion looked intent on waiting for Ricardo to awaken. Not bothering to say anything more, Chase exited the room and glided to his office, his lab coat blowing out at the ends. He located a profile for Ricardo and went back to the examination room, clicking a pen repeatedly as he scanned the profile.
Soon, the man started taking notes on Ricardo's condition. If the man overworked now, he was likely to do so again. It would be wise for someone to keep an eye on him...maybe a relative? It would be a terrible thing if the man was outside in the snow once again, collapsed, and no one was there to help.
He was sure Ricardo would be waking up soon, and he would tell him what had happened and what he should to do make sure it never happened again. It was the same routine he had been through many times before. By the annoyed expression Raine had portrayed earlier, he thought Ricardo also might get some sort of lecture from her.

The ache. Oh Goddess, it seemed to have spread to every inch of him like blood though the veins. His subconscious had briefly registered movement before the inky black and consumed all again. But now...
There was warmth.
It was the first thing to register in Rico's half frozen brain. Warmth, and a soft babble of...some noise in the background. The pitches changed and fell, like a lullaby coaxing him back to the living. After a few more moments he was able to tell it was not a flowing song, but two separate voices. Yet one was much higher than the other. And that pitch it hit... The strong sense of deja vu hit at about the same time Rico could detect the glow of light though his closed eyelids. Functions of his nervous system were slowly coming back to their proper places.
Too bad the function of pain had to make an appearance as well.
"Oh fuck..." he grumbled though his stiff windpipes, his voice taking on a rather strangled tone. Rico squeezed his eyelids in an attempt to block out the dull throbbing, but it did more harm than good. Goddess! It felt like his head was about to split open! A fierce headache racked his skull, and the rancher had a fleeting flashback of falling on to snow... That was probably what did it: smacking his head from the fall.
He didn't even want to open his eyes at the rate this was going. If this was anything like a hangover, letting light into his vision wasn't going to do him any favors. (( OCC: Ha. Haha. Hahahaha... XD ))

((*shakes fist* serves him right! XD ha ha... hahaha... <3... Ugh, just thinking about that kind of head pain makes me want to cry... ;-; Meh, its the worst. XD Sorry for the shortness... Raine makes me laugh.))
Raine raised an eyebrow, her gaze on the man continued when he muttered a curse. A look of pain was washing over his peaceful one, and she blinked lazily before standing up and walking over to the hospital bed. She cocked her head to the door, "Dr.Oleander," she called, her tone more soft then it had been when she had been coming into the clinic. Her gaze returned to the man, head tilting to the side as she crossed her arms. Her lips twitched slightly, now that the man was waking up she didn't want to be there. She needed to be indifferent to the man, right?
Yet standing by the man's hospital bed didn't really show that she was indifferent about the situation, right? "Hey, Ricardo... are you okay?" She managed, her voice seeming rather cold. Her eye twitched, now she didn't sound indifferent, she sounded like she didn't care... Yet she was standing there. What was she doing, why didn't she just go home?

Chase made his way to the waking man, realizing he was cringing from pain. The female was standing by the bed, her arms crossed. The doctor went on the other side of the bed, peering down at Ricardo as he tucked his profile under one arm and placed his pen in the pocket on his labcoat.
"Can you hear me okay?" the golden-eyed man said, making sure his voice wasn't too loud, but loud enough. He wasn't opening his eyes, so Chase assumed it was his head that was hurting. Most people kept their eyes closed when their head hurt bad enough. "Is your head hurting? If so, can you tell me where?" With a soft hand, Chase rested his fingertips on Ricardo's head, putting minimal pressure on certain places, trying to find where it hurt.

More voices more voicesmorevoices morevoices...
Oh, stopstopstopstop...
Rico slowly raised his weak arm to his face, draping the limb over the bridge of his nose. Hiding his eyes in the crook of his elbow, the disoriented man gave out another groan. This sucked. Everything sucked. What the hell was going on? The endless white from what felt like moments before - it had been promptly killed by the forever black that had clouded his senses until not long ago. Why did he have to be here?
Why wouldn't the damn voices shut the hell up?
The deja vu female one racked his skull once more, muttering something unintelligible and rather dark sounding. Curiosity still flickered on the outskirts of his memory - too bad it wasn't enough to detract from the pissy mood Rico was growing into. And then the other one came! The deeper one, which the man was sane enough to gather was male. This time Rico paid a bit more attention, but only just enough to make out individual words.
"Is your head hurting? If so, can you tell me where?"
Damn right it was hurting! This pain was so frustrating that it felt like the whole would should be able to see just from looking at him! The rancher snorted in annoyance before grumbling out, "Head...everything...sharp..." Every subtle noise racked his ears and tore his sanity. Bringing up a shaking hand to the back of his throbbing head, easy fingers felt a patch of hair. It was on the crown, towards the back. It was the matted feel that made Rico wonder, but what he found wasn't to his liking. Wet. Thick. And he didn't have to open his eyes to tell it was probably a deep crimson color. No wonder he was so messed up, he'd not only shocked his system but jabbed his head across a stone or something.
He almost whimpered - not from pain, but from pity for himself. Oh Goddess, what he do to deserve this?

When golden orbs landed on the crimson liquid that rubbed off onto Ricardo's hand, Chase turned away quickly and started gathering supplies. The wound needed cleaned and dressed before the man lost much more blood because the blood seemed fresh, as if he was still losing it at that very moment.
Hurrying back to the injured man, the doctor lifted his head gently and wiped the gash off before disinfecting it. The wound wasn't all that big, making it easy to access it through the mass of dark hair. He wanted to avoid shaving that particular spot of the man's hair off, so he got a good sized medical pad and secured it on the wound by putting some wrapping around Ricardo's head. It was enough pressure to stop the bleeding.
"Right now I don't need to shave any hair off, but I may need to later depending on what happens with the wound," Chase said, keeping his voice somewhat soft. He left the room to retrieve some pain killers, leaving solely Raine in the room with his patient.
Just to make sure, Chase would probably have to run some tests to make sure Ricardo didn't have a concussion, but that could be taken care of at a later time when he was feeling better.

When Raine had seen the blood, it was almost impossible to hide the shock that crossed her face. Here eyes had widened, fingers trembling slightly from the anticipation and shock of the situation. Her lips tightened, turning into a flat line. She hadn't seen in the dark the blood, or what had caused the gash. So she stood, watching as Chase tended to his wounds. She stood their like a statue looking at the scene that was playing out before her eyes. She was worried, and that was apparent. Yet it hit her again, all her worry rooted from one single factor.
The man had overworked himself.
Her eye twitched again, her worried gaze once again flashing slight annoyance. Why was it that in a moment of happyness that something always ended up happening to dampen her mood. Yet again her gaze started to soften, arms still crossed over her chest. She was still glad she had been there at that time but apparently the full extent of the mans injuries had not been able to see so quickly, it it was mainly the blood that had caused the sudden wave of worry to wash over her. Yet she continued to stand their, looking down at the man not knowing what to say or do, but it would have to work for her.

Chase returned a minute later with some pills to ease the man's pain. A glass of water has held in the hand free of the medicine. Making his way over to Ricardo, Chase set the glass down on a small table nearby and took two pills from the bottle before setting the round plastic item down on the table.
"Okay, Ricardo, I need you to cooperate with me here..." Chase turned to the man and tilted his head up, bringing his hand with the pills near his face. "I need you to take these pills. I have some water for you."
The doctor popped the pills into Ricardo's mouth then quickly grabbed the glass of water, tipping so that Ricardo would be able to get some water and swallow the pills.
