Eli didn't know if he should be laughing, sulking, or if his eye should be twitching in annoyance as he ran through the snow. When Sammy had jumped on his back, he had dropped the hammer, then was commanded to run now being compared to a horse rather then a lady. As for what he was currently doing? Running, laughing (the sound was rather nervous and not a hearty noise like usual), and his right eye was twitching. Another yank on his hair and he winced as the chicken followed close behind. "Okay, I am running, you can stop that now Sammy." He said, hands shooting up and grasping Sammy's as his laughter stopped and his eye twitched some more.
Yes, this was a bazaar day. Never in his life did he ever expect to be giving a girl a piggyback ride away from a crazed chicken. How had he gotten involved in this again? And thats when it happened, he tripped. Now, Eli was normally rather coordinated, but seeming as how his hands were tied up and the extra person on his back he wasn't swift enough to save his fall. So he was only able to fall flat on his face. He groaned, head pounding from the yanking of his hair. He wished to go back to the mine and be saved by its tranquil atmosphere. Unmoving he just lay there as if he was dead. He had dropped his hammer too, sulking even more he thought of his belongings back at the mine that could be taken by a random hobo.
Why couldn't the day have just stayed normal?

She had been yanking his hair, one for picking up speed the crazy bird was gaining on them and two because his hair was soft. Not a good reason but she couldn't help it. Glancing behind, she saw the chicken closely behind. "I never knew a chicken could be so fast..." she muttered to herself as her hands suddenly wasn't touching the soft hair of his. "Whoa!" she said as she almost fell from his back. Clutching to Eli's hands for dear life, panic started to settle in.
"Are we going to die?" she gasped out. The feeling of falling washed over her. Sucking in her breathe she slammed her hands onto the ground so that her body wouldn't slam into Eli's. It seemed he didn't need that at the moment. He had fallen hitting face first.
Forgetting the chicken for a while Sammy began to shake Eli. "Don't die! I just met you! Oh Goddess, they'll think I killed you! I'll go to prison. I don't want to go to prison!" she didn't stop shaking him once, that is until a he made what seemed a groaning sound. "You're alive!" she practically yelled in his ear as she awkwardly hugged him. "Yay! I don't have to go to prison now!"
Cluck.
The color in her face quickly vanished. "I forgot about you..." the chicken ran forward. 'It's going to eat us alive!" Sammy let out a shriek of terror. She had never been afraid of an animal to this certain degree.

Eli continued to just lay there, even after being awkwardly hugged. Thats when he heard the cluck, which caused the girl to suddenly start screaming something about the chicken eating her... Yes, this chicken seemed to be a spawn from hell, yet he doubted that the chicken would eat them.
But now that he thought of it, he couldn't hold back a shiver that pulsed thought him before he got up, Sammy rolling off his back as he faced the chicken pointing at it an glaring. His mouth open as if yelling at it would do anything, but before any words could come out of his mouth an unfamiliar feminine voice called out.
"What are you doing out here?" Lauren called. She had just slipped on her red boots, her attire being a black long sleeved shirt and a dark wash blue jean, her winter attire minus a jacket. She almost had a heart attack by the noise that had been coming from the path in front of her house and now that she walked out she wandered what had been taking place. She raised an eyebrow at the two people, and the chicken who's attention seemed to be directed in her direction. The man that was facing the chicken seemed to have been about to yell at the creature, while the girl seemed frightened for her life.
She walked over, looking between the three of them and when she stood near them she asked a question once again. "Whats going on?" Eli sat looking at her a few moments, giving a rather blank look when the chicken squawked. Attention drawing to the chicken she realized that it was lunging at the two. Before it got close she reach down, hands clamping around its body as its legs continued to kick and a spitefully look shone in its eye. Lauren looked calmly down at the animal, raising an eyebrow and looking at the two on the ground near her. "What have you done to this poor creature?" She asked before pulling it toward herself and stroking at its feathers trying to calm it down.

Her left eye twitched. "What we have done?"she questioned as she stood up. "What we have done!?! That chicken..." she pointed dramatically at the evil creature "Is a spawn of the demon lord ready to attack everyone and eat them alive!" she informed the newcomer. Looking at the pinned down chicken she couldn't help but feel a pinch of pity 'Poor thing. Wonder what happened to it when it was a chick...'
"That chicken will rule the world." she nodded to herself quite seriously. "Oh! I saw a bird!" Squealing she ran around where she last spotted it. Nearly tripping on her two feet she rushed over to site only to see a cluster of leaves. "Huh? What happened to the bird? A clucking sound quickly reminded her about another bird near them. "Roadrunner" she blurted out not knowing what to do only to squeal again as she thought she saw another bird. "I wanna see a bear" she told them randomly.
Getting a hold of herself she bent down in front of the chicken and stared at it. "If you're going to let go of it...be prepared" Sammy warned and poked the chicken on the head. "I will now call you Roadrunner The Evil The King Of Destruction And Evilness. In short R.T.E.T.K.O.D.A.E."
...Stupid...

Lauren just stood watching Sammy as she talked about the chicken as if it was evil or something. Despite the craziness of the accusations that the girl was giving, Lauren couldn't hold back a small smile as she continued to stroke the chickens feathers. As the girl had her random moment, thinking she spotted birds, and how she wanted to see a bear and such, the smile became rather halfhearted.
Eli on the other hand, having dealt with this longer had finally crossed his legs, and was now just sitting and watching Sammy with an amused expression that was slightly laced with annoyance... But it was still amusing to him at the same time. He had been going to ask about if Sammy was okay once the chicken had been in Lauren's arms, yet he guessed she was fine.
Yet as Sammy walked over to the chicken, Lauren blinked a few times. When she started to talk to the chicken then poke it. Afterwords:
"I will now call you Roadrunner The Evil The King Of Destruction And Evilness. In short R.T.E.T.K.O.D.A.E."
Lauren continued to blink a few times, Eli sitting not too far away started to chuckle under his breath. That was before the smile replenished on Lauren's lips. "You know, if you poke it you are probably getting it even more mad at you then it was before." She said before she started to position the chicken differently in her grasp. Hands tucked under its body pulling up its feet to it body she then gently tucked its head under its wing, making it look like a blob of whit feathers. She then started to rock it back and forth. She sighed looking down at it as she continued to rock it, and the chicken's resistance against the rocking soon started to fade away.
Eli's eyebrows rose, before he looked around there surroundings. It looked like they were on the farming plot of land that was out in the mountain ranges. Sure, he walked by it on his way to the mine. Was she the farmer?... Why were woman taking over such roles?! His sister was a blacksmith, Camille was a miner, and now this girl owned a pretty large farm. He had a somewhat annoyed look on his face, he was never one to be sexist, but man! What was up with this Village, was the mayor a woman?... How about the rancher? He held back a small groan.
((XD Raine would smack him right now if she knew what he was thinking. XP))

Sammy shrugged staying indifferent of the chicken this time. "Nye, I'm getting kinda used to it being mad all the time." she poked it once more and stood up observing her scenery.
White powdery snowflakes were on the the land and trees. The sun making them shine. A cold breeze passed by them knocking into Sammy's head that it was actually winter. She rubbed her bare hands together finally noticing it was cold. Chasing around Roadrunner...err... R.T.E.T.K.O.D.A.E had made her warm throughout the day.
Sammy looked towards Susan and how she held the chicken. "Why do you do that? the girl asked curiously. "Is it to calm her down?" pointing to the chicken that was actually calm and probably had fallen asleep. Sammy eyes roomed around the lot, distracted. Her mind wasn't really focusing on the reply she waited from Susan but trying to force her arms to the opposite sleeve.
"It's cold!" she whined to Eli who had a sour look on his face and was currently sitting down on the ground. Well at least that's how she interpreted it. She snorted and pointed at his face. "You look like my father when you do that."

Eli looked up at her, sour look still on his face. "Like what, when I what?" He asked looking up at Sammy not really knowing what he looked like. Then he realized that she wasn't kidding about being cold as she was trying to shove one of her arms into the opposite sleeve. How Eli made it down in the mine in winter? Under armor and a sweater. Blinking a few times, his expression really not changing, he took of the black sweater and held it out to her. He knew it would probably look slightly like a parachute on her. But he figured that she would be getting rather cold... it was snowing after all. "Here, use this." He said, yet again expression still the same.
Lauren kept her eyes down on the chicken until she was sure it was asleep. "Well," she laughed looking up at Sammy. "the chicken is sleeping. So I doubt that it will give you problems as long as it stays that way." She said holding it out in the girls direction. Just try and keep rocking it on occasion. It might wake up after sometime. I would get this thing back considering the cold weather." She said. "Oh, I am Lauren by the way. I own Angel-Field Farm." She gave a small smile.

"I said," she repeated, "That you look like my father when you do that face" she giggled.
Shivering like a leaf she quickly put on the sweater that was held out to her. The sleeve were long for her...actually the whole sweater was. Squealing like a small child she began flapping her arms, the long sleeved sweater swinging everywhere. "Wee! I'm a bird." The thought that she was a seventeen year old girl vanished.
Calming down after a while, a silly grin was stuck on her face. "So rocking i back and forth will make it go back to sleep again? she asked trying to take hold of the chicken. Her fingers didn't seem to find the exit out. Annoyed she pouted, "Your sweater is too big, Eli." Giving up she placed the chicken in her arms, the sleeves hanging loosely.
"I'm Sammy. Nice to meet you!" Sammy felt giddy at the mention that she owned a farm. "Do you have animals too?" she asked excitedly. "Can I see? I wanna see? How about now? Now?" she blurted it out like a faucet with running water. Placing the chicken on Eli's head she began to spin around Lauren. She really didn't seem 17.

Eli's expression had faded from the sour look, to one that was rather amused when the girl started to flap her arms and state that she was a bird. 'And I am the King of France...' The thought with a chuckle. Yet he did still find the girl rather amuzing, her almost insane ways making him rather glad that she really didn't seem to care about anything. She was entertaining and kinda fun when bad things weren't happening. He looked over at the new company Lauren as she and Sammy exchanged words and the chicken was once again in Sammy's possession as she complained about the sweater being too big. He watched as she introduced herself, and started to question if the woman with dark green hair had any animals, and about wanting to see them. Eli chuckled under his breath once again as he glanced around the farm, it seemed rather barren. Yet it was winter so he wasn't about to start judging the land.
"Sadly I don't have any animals yet." Lauren said, watching the girl place the chicken on Eli's head before starting to twirl around her. Eli eyed the chicken for a few moments, looking at Sammy and blinking before taking the chicken off his head and lazily cradling it in his arms. He gave a sigh, not really knowing what to do with it. Lauren smiled softly at the girl, but she found Sammy's excitement rather misplaced. "I can't show you them when I do get some." She said with a small nod. But its not like Lauren was going to go out and search for the girl. If she ever got animals she would rather not risk anything happening to them... She wasn't thinking that the girl was the best thing to have around the far, to put it lightly.
"We should probably get going," Eli said standing up and holding onto the chicken. "at least I should." He mumbled, running a hand through his hair with a sigh. "I am Eli Blackenheart, its nice to meet you. And thanks for the help with the chicken." He said with a chuckle, offering a hand. Lauren took it, giving a firm handshake.
"It was my pleasure, I am glad I was able to help." Lauren said with a nod. Eli reached out, hand firmly resting on Sammy's head stopping her spinning as he leaned in her direction.
"Don't you think we should get R.T.E... T.K.O... D.A.E back before it wakes up?" He said, rather surprised that he had remembered the spew of letters that the girl had used. He really didn't want the thing waking up again, so he settled with trying to convince Sammy to put it back.
