Glowering, Camille entered the mine, bundled up in a black winter coat and a brandeis colored scarf. It was obvious that she didn't exactly enjoy winter. The woman was usually happy, but it was as if the freezing temperatures chilled all her warm feelings so that she was unnaturally irritated and depressed. Although her mood wasn't the best, as soon as she stepped foot in the mine, her spirits seemed to lift a bit.
The thought of her mining companion nipped at the back of her mind, causing her heart to beat a bit harder for just a second, and her hopes to rise. She really wanted to see him. It was always nice to have someone else around while in the mine because she didn't feel lonely like she often times did.
Without wasting any time, the woman set her backpack down for a moment and unwound her scarf from around her neck, placing it neatly on the floor against the wall. After that, she slid her first layer of gloves off and tossed them onto the item, now only having her mining gloves on. Keeping her coat on, the woman grabbed a flashlight and a bottle of water, heading down to the floor that she and Eli had left off making a ladder on.
The woman was in such a hurry to get down there that she slipped halfway down one ladder and landed on the hard ground in a position that caused her hip to pop loudly. Cringing, she knew she hadn't done too much damage--the hip was just out popped out of it's socket. She was glad Eli hadn't been there because she would have completely embarrassed herself in front of him. Managing to stand, she walked over to the next ladder, taking her time. The hip didn't hurt too badly, it just ached slightly, making her limp a bit. It just needed to be put back in place and she would be fine, but she was afraid she would mess it up even more if she tried to do so herself, so she merely left it and continued on her trek.
When she reached the level they had left off on, she set the flashlight on it's side, facing the outline of the ladder, and started to work on it herself, wondering if Eli would arrive. After working on the ladder for a little while, she got sleepy. It was darker in the room than it was lighter, making her very tired. The night before had been so windy that it had kept her up until the early hours of the morning.
With her aching hip and all, the brunette scooted over to a rock and turned off her flashlight, curling up on the floor with her back against the rock. It wouldn't hurt to take a little nap...
